This is the day! After a two year-delay, the day has finally come. Originally scheduled for April 8, 2024, during the second “Great American Solar Eclipse,” which the “Path of Totality” ran through Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse just north of my Central New York rural home of Virgil in Cortland County. However, the Chrysler Corporation backed out of the production of their previously advertised 2024 Dodge Challenger EV muscle car (for whatever reason), which was the initial reason for the second “Cross Country Challenger Quest (C3Q),” to do the ultimate “shakedown run” to test its long range capabilities in a titanic transcontinental trek to all 48-contiguous states of America. I had hoped that the delays were due to the 2020 pandemic and the subsequent workers’ strike a few years later. I even called my local Dodge dealership to be placed on their waiting list, but it was never built. Pity. Especially considering it was going to outperform any and all internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. So, was it Trump and his administration’s adamant adversarial position against anything and everything green energy? Possibly. But considering oil and gas prices have been on the rise since the start of the Iran War, it just might time to return to their original plans and the national petition drive campaign I am launching will perhaps be the populist push they need to resurrect the Dodge EV Challenger.

Nevertheless, I proceeded for different reasons, which are described on the “Afterword” in my newly released coffee table art book “THE REBEL RODDER: A Race Against The Descending Sun Of Democracy Through A Cross Country Challenger Quest (C3Q) To Set A New Street Art World Record,” on sale now for $65 on my website at (TheRebelRodder.com).

Today begins with unusually clear and cloudless blue September skies (an oddity that would continue throughout this entire first full day of fall in upstate New York). We left our home in Virgil, NY at approximately 4:33 pm but not before saying our goodbyes to our good neighbor, Tom Walden, who vouched to be so kind to keep an eye on our home while we were gone and wished us to have “happy and safe travels.” Shortly thereafter we travelled onto Route 13 heading north towards I-81 to Syracuse before heading East on I-90. On we drove with two large (3’ x 5’) flags—first one is a red/white/black “1776 We The People” and the second was (also r/w/b) a custom made one that reads: “ZXC/The Rebel Rodder/The Cross Country Challenger Quest 2 (C3Q II).” As we drove through our small Cortland city of about 50,000 people, we got some perplexed mixed reactions, while also smiles and thumbs up of approval, perhaps a taste of things to come.

After about two-and-half hours of driving averaging a speed of 75 mph we reached Albany, the state capitol of New York around 7:00 pm. We got some curious and enamored pedestrians coming up close to my nitrous equipped, phantom black, white and red pinstriped 2010 Dodge 6.1 Challenger SRT8. We took advantage of their attraction and asked to get their full name, signature and contact information for our Guinness World Record (GWR) witness log. (Along with receipts, media and visual documentation, we are required to get at least two contacts per state to be able to verify our whereabouts).

After giving them our business cards and talking to a few people who expressed great awe and admiration for our audacious adventure, we proceeded as planned to the underground concourse underneath “The Empire State Plaza,” with the intention to do a “Banskyesque” posting by spray-pasting my black-red-and-white “ZXC Insignia Poster” (which you can read about its origins in volume one of “THE LAST TOME: A Sextet Synthology—The S3K Project (The Integral Art Trilogy),” which will be released in 17 daily installments over the next 17 days along with volume II—Project S3K (The Integral Activist Trilogy),” for a combined 5,500 pages—making it one of the largest titanic treatise ever compiled in modern artistic and intellectual history. But I digress.

So our initial plans to spray-paste my insignia poster next to an official modern work art in the concourse exhibit hall of famous paintings and sculptures like the “notorious” UK street artist, “Banksy” did at an art museum, were quickly thwarted as we witnessed multiple police and security officers patrolling the grounds and manning security cameras. No way, I thought to myself, was I going to start my titanic trek with a night in jail and jeopardize the overall mission before I even really got started. So we moved on and walked up to the outside plaza where we knew a gigantic “Egg” auditorium lay awaiting us. When got there, only small amount of tourists and their buses were present. No cops, no security (at least what could be casually seen). Perfect. Now I scanned the night landscape for my first spray-pasting, which is what I refer to using spray-adhesive aerosol cans instead of the more messy and cumbersome wheat pasting that street artist like Shepard Fairey use.

The key is to find a good surface area to paste and an eye-catching background. Plan B was to use “The Egg” as such a striking backdrop but there was nothing to post on to allow for such a photographic and video scene. Instead, I found a metal trash container with the four “monolith-like-towers” illuminating the night sky. I cleaned the surface area with a red rag and spray-pasted before preparing the posters themselves as my partner and wife, Zoraya, video and photographed me in action for perhaps a future documentary and second street art coffee table book tentatively called “The Second Race Against The Descending Suns.”

Success! We did it without interference or capture. We would now proceed to celebrate our first pasting by grabbing a late dinner at “Oaxaquena Triui” Mexican restaurant where we would also get our first receipt and two witness log participants. A good night and ahead of schedule of our first posting night 10 years ago on August 12, 2016. Next stop: Bennington, Vermont.

We arrived and checked in at the “New Englander Inn” on 220 Northside Dr., 05201, at approximately 11:30 pm. We paid a total of $107.91 for the night but not before having a long but very interesting and “controversial” conversation that he asked to be left out of this entry for fear of federal law enforcement retaliation, but suffice it to say it was very intriguing. In addition, he was so nice and accommodating that he not only gave us a hotel discount and signed our witness log but also gave me a vanilla envelop that I requested to store my receipts. In search for a full, two-sided-page flyers of both the book and the project I surprisingly found some 8 x 10 color photos of my Challenger during the first car quest and gave him a signed autographed copy. He was ecstatically pleased and said he was going to frame—celebrity treatment before becoming famous. I can get used to this. LOL.

VOLUME I: THE S3K PROJECT—Installment 2

What if art could do more than reflect the culture—what if it could break the trance and help create a new one?

Installment 2 is where the art stops sitting still—and moves into the streets.

Beginning with “Guerrilla X Artivism,” the installment traces a shift from graffiti, culture jamming, and public art toward what S3K calls mission-oriented strategic art—art designed not just to provoke, but to challenge the stories, assumptions, and power structures shaping everyday life.

Then “The Birth of Integral Public Art” and the Straw Man Project move the story into action. The reader is dropped into the aftermath of the Los Angeles Staples Center arrest before the narrative flashes back to November 1999, when a small group of Gen-Xers launched the first S3K guerrilla installation at Mount Helix.

From there, the installment develops the idea of “Breaking the Consensus Trance”—the argument that lasting social change must begin by challenging the mental maps, myths, values, and cultural assumptions that shape how people understand reality. It connects that argument to a developmental model of consciousness moving from magical and imperial stages toward cultural and spiritual consciousness.

It then turns to the power of myth, artists as modern myth-makers, and

While having a hot complimentary breakfast at the hotel, we overheard an elderly couple who were “off-season travelers” that aspired to someday travel to all 48 contiguous states. This immediately perked our ears and provided Zoraya the perfect opportunity to cordially announce that we were doing such a trip now. A longer conversation ensued and one of the other elderly ladies offered to be briefly interviewed and filmed for our documentary. One of the questions Zoraya asked of her was what she thought about the political divisions plaguing our country. You can see her response in the video provided in the Facebook Page: “The Rebel Rodder.” In short, she states that we are one America, not just Democrats or Republicans but ultimately all Americans. True, but of course not that simple to surmise and lay our cultural divisions aside, especially not when one political camp views the other (and vice-versa) as evil or irredeemable and an existential threat to their worldview and way of life. Nevertheless, her earnest words were captured by Zoraya and now passed onto you, the viewer.

Upon departing the hotel, we headed to the “Old First Church” where the gravesite of the famous and prestigious American poet, Robert Frost, laid to rest. Aside from taking the usual pictures and typical video, I posed next to the tombstone with my new book “The Rebel Rodder,” because I opened my introduction with his poem, “The Road Not Taken.” So I thought it only fitting to capture the moment and complete the full circle.

We then proceeded to the enormous obelisk monument that commemorates the great “Battle of Bennington,” (see “The Rebel Rodder” Facebook page for the video). After quickly surveilling the area and parking the car, Zoraya immediately found the perfect foreground to spay-paste the poster with the gigantic obelisk in the background (as you see from the photos and musical motif of “2001: A Space Odyssey” on “The Rebel Rodder” Instagram).

As soon as we entered the New Hampshire state line the highway welcome sign greeted us just below the Area 51 fireworks store. I quickly pulled over and parked the Challenger up on the roadway leading to the store with the sign in the foreground, which the bottom third was covered with stickers. Perfect. I prepped my insignia poster in the back my car trunk by spray-pasting the back of it then walking down and with my red rags to clean the surface before applying only the top third part of the poster allowing the bottom two-thirds dangling in space—flapping with the wind like the flags in the behind the Challenger. Zoraya got two signatures from the two employees inside who were enthusiastic to participate, so much so, they wanted to get a picture of us and the car.

Not too long after that, we made it to Maine and stopped at the local 7-11 to get signatures and a receipt from purchasing pizza, chips and coffee. It was there that I unexpectedly found a spray painted wooden crate with the words: “No Trespassing!” Of course, for me, that was a command to defy it, which I did. However, soon thereafter, as I finished spray pasting and documenting the scene an employee came out to see what we were doing as I was putting pasting supplies away in my trunk. I looked over to my left shoulder and looked at him straight in the eyes and grinned to him as I said, “Hey, what’s up?” He responded, “Nothing.” Then took out a cigarette and started to smoke… right beside us, as if keeping watch. He must have saw something through the security cameras, but not quite sure what so he went outside to investigate. We soon made our casual departure.

We arrived at the Massachusetts’ Welcome Center just before closing time at 5 pm and parked the Challenger precisely in front of the building’s sign to frame the photo and video with the Challenger just beneath it to act as a title heading for the composition. Excellent. Zoraya got more signatures inside the visiting center and bought a Salem, MA witch magnet souvenir to get our $5 receipt before flying off ourselves.

As we approached our next state, I thought about where to paste and Shepard Fairey, the “Obey-Giant” street artist came to mind. I remembered he was alumni at the Rhode Island School of Design and thought it would be kind of cheeky to “guerrilla art” his alma mater and what a more perfect site than the trash can right next to the school’s entrance labeled “Waste.” But just before that, I had done the walkway promenade along the waterway.

VOLUME I: THE S3K PROJECT—Installment 3

What happens when an artistic idea becomes real enough to risk everything for—and powerful enough to make the public look twice?

Installment 3 is where the S3K experiment fully leaves theory behind and becomes a lived guerrilla-art campaign.

The installment follows The Straw Man Project, 1999–2000, beginning with Project One: “The Sermon on the Mount” at the Mt. Helix Cross in San Diego. What starts as a plan to “break the consensus trance” becomes a real midnight operation involving reconnaissance, disguises, lookouts, media strategy, a 40-foot ladder, a black shroud, and a crew trying to pull off an installation before anyone can stop them.

The story then unfolds through the crew’s own perspectives, revealing the fear, improvisation, loyalty, internal conflict, and sheer nerve behind the project. Their first successful installation transforms the illuminated cross into a looming black “mono-cross,” captures local television and newspaper attention, and proves the group’s theory that controversial public space could become a stage for consciousness-raising art.

From there, the installment expands the campaign beyond a single stunt into a repeatable method—laying out S3K’s site-selection process, planning, reconnaissance, artistic design, logistics, media strategy, and implementation framework for future guerrilla art projects.

We departed from our Connecticut hotel and headed towards New Jersey. Looking for healthy options to eat, we arrived at El Azteca Mexican Restaurant for a late lunch/ early dinner around 3:30. We ate a delicious and healthy Caldo de Res, which is a beef stew and ordered a tamal to taste. After the meal, we got the two witness signatures and surveyed the perimeter of the mall to identify a potential posting site. I was excited to find a site that I have never done before. I drove to what would become the scene of the crime in more ways than one. As I was backing in the car next to the two giant mall pillar signs and started prepping the posters, I heard a side swipe fender bender in the parking lot just 10 yards behind me. Fortunately, no one was hurt but I knew there would be a police response so that created a ten minute countdown clock to process the posting (or so I thought). There must have been a patrol nearby because they arrived five minutes later while I was still smoothing out the second of four posters. I proceeded nevertheless hoping they would be too preoccupied at the accident site and it actually served as a good decoy. Mission accomplished without further incident.

Special Note: At this point we would normally continue down the east coast corridor but we had to alter our route and head back towards the original northwest route to avoid the Nor’easter coming our way and slamming the whole eastern seaboard. Once again, we had to change course for our safety and to salvage the mission (much like our initial plans to head to the midwest first but unfortunately there was a deluge causing mass flooding and even deaths.) Unfortunately, this dramatic diversion cost us a whole day of travel leading us to back track through our home state and stopping for the night.

Two hours later we arrived at a Welcome Center in Pennsylvania and after I surveyed the site, I decided to spray paste 2 posters behind a Smokey the bear metallic billboard next to the welcome site. This posting got attention and two men approached me to ask about the poster so I explained I am an artist and author on a 48 state book tour. Curiosity soon fell, proving you can always count on a potential sales pitch to drive people away. We soon left ourselves.

VOLUME I: THE S3K PROJECT—Installment 4

At the midpoint of Volume One, the question changes from What is happening to the world? to What are we going to do about it?

Installment 4 marks the midpoint of Volume One—and the point where the ideas begin to move into action. Spanning Proem II, Formentions IV, Generation II, and Foresights, this installment enters “The Second Septet” and traces a generational changing of the guard: the promising arrival of the Millennials alongside the premature requiem of Generation X.

But Gen X is not disappearing quietly. From technology, media, satire, and grassroots experimentation comes a different model for changing the world—one built less on grand movements and more on millions of individual acts beginning to connect.

Then Foresights turns theory into a lived experiment, documenting Projects 8–10: “The Monolithic Milestones Project”, the “Cross Country Challenger Quest” (C3Q), and the “Crowdocracy Congressional Campaign Mission” (C3M).

One is to expect these kinds of setbacks when engaged in such an epic endeavor. The key is to not lose heart and to continue to pave a path forward.
Drove east on the 90 which is the back bone of this west bound trip and arrived at the Ohio Welcome welcome center in the evening where I learned about 1 of over 100 covered bridges in the state. I took pictures and video alluding to the next possible site. Ten minutes later and five miles down the road, we found ourselves on an unpaved, bumpy dirt road leading us into darkness. “Pretty sure this is how horror movies usually begin,” I commented and we both chuckled, (me out of comedic relief but her, maybe out of nervousness.) In such a secluded spot, it became obvious why there were no street lights and it made shooting videos and photos problematic. So I decided to use the Challenger as the source of light by having its headlights on. It created too much glare and a washed-out effect that would ruin the ambiance so I reversed the challenge and used the taillights to provide a more atmospheric tone that was appropriate for its surroundings.Even then, it did not prove sufficient so I had to pump the brakes in order to to finally illuminate it to my satisfaction. I then proceeded to prepare both sides of the bridge's entrance and then applied the posters. Tonight's final task was completed and proceeded to our hotel in Ohio.

VOLUME I: THE S3K PROJECT—Installment 5

Is metamodernism a philosophy, a movement, a solution—or merely a new way of recognizing the contradictions already reshaping culture?

Installment 5 pushes beyond prediction and into the emerging worldview of a new cultural era.

Continuing through Foresights and culminating in Intercession II: “Mainstreaming Metamodernism,” this installment follows the S3K projects deeper into questions of cultural change, collective action, art, technology, and new forms of social organization.

Then comes the critical examination of metamodernism’s arrival—not simply as the next fashionable idea, but as a response to the exhaustion of postmodernism and the search for a language capable of describing a world in transition.

           Installment 5 enters that debate.

After departing the hotel we headed towards Coldwater, Michigan in search of one of the last drive-in movie theaters called “The Capri.” Upon arrival, to my great surprise, the drive-in looked pristine as if newly remodeled with fresh coats of paint making a vibrant and colorful feast for the eyes (excuse the food reference as I am still eating bland food due to my hyperglycemia.) With its vibrant red, yellow and white fresh paint you would think this was a brand new establishment. I must admit it is the finest drive-in dual screen theater I have ever seen (and that includes the ones I grew up visiting called The Fiesta Four in Pico Rivera, California.) It brought back childhood memories for both of us and Zoraya remembered going to see a family movie like “Quest For Fire” but we found ourselves distracted by scenes from “Purple Rain” and “Alien" that were much more appealing and exciting even without sound.

After surveying the entire site, I thought it best to spray paste 2 posters on each side of the marquee sign. Soon thereafter we moved on and doubled back to the am radio station that I spotted on the way over to the Capri. On the way there I spotted a unique tree on a home property that was carved out and the logs rearranged to shape a cross. I posed in front of it on the street corner with the car. A couple of miles later I re-located the am station and took a chance to see if they would cover our quest live. Unfortunately, when I got there, virtually everyone was gone with the exception of one employee. After I told him of our mission, he was enthusiastic and requested more information. I gave him the book and project flyer along with the business card that directed him to the website and social media. He asked if we could come in the next morning for a radio interview but I had to decline the request because we were already behind and trying to make up for lost time. But before departing, I teased him by stating that I posted in their town and would only provide him with this clue, “I left the town of coldwater a gift on your biggest outdoor canvas.” The employee smiled and repeated the phrase so he could remember and pass it on to the radio personnel. As I started walking out the door it occurred to me that he might want to see the challenger drive away and to capture it on video which he did along with enthusiastic expletives. He added, “the pictures don't do that car justice.” We rode out in rubber burning whiplash fashion. (something to remember our meeting leaving tire marks behind as street souvenirs.)

After ping ponging between Michigan and Indiana because of map confusion, we finally ended up on the Indiana side of the border and stopped at the gas station to re-orient ourselves and the gps. I took a walk around the perimeter to see if there was an interesting site to spray paste and I found a giant singular black sign pole advertising Love’s gas prices that can be seen from the highway. I realized it's the first black pole sign I had seen and thought that it would offer a great contrast to my predominantly red insignia poster, helping it to stand out. I reversed the challenger to use the pole as the backdrop and proceeded my usual method of operation. As expected, our powers of aesthetic observation proved correct. Onto the next state: The Land of Lincoln.

As the fall night fell upon us and we needed to fuel up again, we decided to call it a night by doing the last posting in a Chicago suburb on two gas station pillars that framed the challenge perfectly. It was the last posting of the day before proceeding to the hotel just a few yards away.

After having a late departure time of 12 noon, we arrived six hours later to the world famous baseball field from the Kevin Costner movie, Field of Dreams. (If you build it they will come.) In great relief, we arrived with plenty of sunlight considering the last time we visited, it was pitch dark and closed. This time around, it was still closed but at least accessible and with an hour of daylight remaining so that we can re-enact famous movie scenes like “having a catch” and “having a swing at it.” In fact, the park being closed worked to our advantage making it easier to spray paste two posters and perhaps making two blue porta potties just as famous as this most endearing cornfield. We called it a day and ended our game due to rain.

We ended the night with “fine dining and gourmet cuisine” at a Carly's gas station and mini mart. It was very late and surrounding establishments were closed so we were limited to gas station choices like corn dogs, hot dogs and cheeseburgers whereas Zoraya opted for a charcuterie board package of salami and cheese. After that we proceeded to our last posting of the night. It was a a black plastic trash can with red and black outdoor benches that complemented the colors of the insignia poster

VOLUME I: THE S3K PROJECT—Installment 7

What would it take to build the Society of the Third Millennium?

Installment 7 marks the shift from documenting the S3K story to constructing its blueprint as Volume II: PROJECT S3K begins the “Integral Activist Trilogy.”

This installment introduces The SUM I, The SUM II, and The Dynamic Decalogue as the foundation of a Third Wave Metamodern vision of Integral Activism for Radical Evolutionary Transformation. PROJECT S3K is presented as a grand synthesis—an attempt to bring philosophy, activism, culture, and social change into one larger framework.

From there, the installment lays out the architecture of what follows: Integral and Metamodern thought, the Grand Unified Theory & Strategy (GUTS), the Dynamic Decalogue, Crowdocracy, and a unifying metanarrative connecting consciousness, culture, governance, and social transformation.

Are we simply witnessing history—or are we standing at the beginning of the next turning?

Beginning with Foreshadowings, the installment unveils a new generation of future guerrilla-art projects, including The Septet III Series and the planned Mono-Arch-Gates of the Seven Fundamental Virtues—projects designed to carry the ideas of the S3K Project forward into public space, culture, and collective action.

, exploring the theory that history moves through recurring cycles of upheaval, renewal, and generational change. Millennials, Generation X, Boomers, and Generation Z are each placed within a larger historical drama as society enters what Howe describes as a Fourth Turning—a period of crisis that may determine what kind of world emerges next.

Aside from Mt Rushmore, which we did ten years ago, we had no clue what other points of interest lay before us in South Dakota so we asked AI for help. It suggested a 50-foot-tall stainless steel sculpture of an Indigenous woman located on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River near Chamberlain, South Dakota called Dignity of Earth and sky. It is made of 128 stainless steel diamonds in the blue and silver colors of the surrounding water and sky. At night, LED lights illuminate the quilt. It honors the culture, heritage, and resilience of the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota peoples and serves as a symbol that all people and the land are sacred. I strategically parked the challenger next to the most pristine pebbled trash can I have ever pasted on with the steel train and waterway in the background. Immediately after, we headed to the Mi Pueblo Mexican restaurant where we went for a late lunch and early dinner and found two witnesses to sign the log. It would be about 5 hours before we reached Nebraska and called it a day but not before witnessing the biggest sky and most beautiful sunsets we can remember from all of our travels. We were able to travel 90 mph on I-90 because the speed limit was refreshingly 80 mph.

After some long silences in the car which finally provided time to reflect upon the impacts of the delays and multiple revisions to our itinerary due circumstances beyond our control, it occurred to us that we didn't know the deadline date to beat based on the first record setting trip of 18 days 20 hours and 45 minutes. We knew how many days we needed to beat but we didn't know the actual deadline date Monday, October 12 at 4:45 pm from first posting to last posting. However, this would not include the time duration to arrive home which would add an extra 7 hours since we will finish in Washington DC and the last state of Maryland. Despite all the delays and setbacks, we still had a shot of breaking the unofficial record that I set ten years ago and no other street artist has ever attempted to do.

Today marked a benchmark in our travels. It was the first time we broke through 629miles in 12 hours, the most we have done on this trip.

VOLUME I: THE S3K PROJECT—Installment 8

When the old world is unraveling, do we collapse with it—or become something new?

Installment 8 is where Volume II shifts from warning to awakening.

Opening with “Going Backwards” and “The Endgame Begins,” this installment confronts ecological collapse, species loss, political and economic crisis, and the growing sense that the old systems are no longer capable of carrying us forward.

Then comes “Anthem X” and The Third Force—a vision of a movement that breaks beyond traditional Left-Right politics and national boundaries, drawing together artists, activists, cultural creatives, digital networks, and systems thinkers around the possibility of deeper transformation.

The installment moves into a “Metameme Insurrection,” arguing that real change must reach beneath surface events into the values, assumptions, and paradigms that shape society itself.

Finally, “From Metacrisis to Metamodernism” poses the central choice: extinction or evolution. Between despair and blind optimism, the text searches for a new way forward through “both/and,” “transcend and include,” and what it calls a Second Great Transition.

           4 States: 17) Nebraska, 18) Wyoming, 19) South Dakota, 20) North Dakota

Woke up at 9 am and missed the hotel continental breakfast so we went to the Country Kitchen just around the corner, Gordon's version of a Dennys. For the first time in 8 days we had a decent hot breakfast of bacon and eggs with wheat toast. It was a refreshing reprieve of barely edible hotel breakfasts. Considering the last time we were in Nebraska we posted in Carhenge, we knew we could not top that site with pictures or videos so we settled for the restaurant sign pole also off the highway so we can move on to make up time.

The next stop was the historic redwood water tank located in Lusk, Wyoming on the east edge of town. It is a giant wooden barrel measuring 25 feet in diameter and 25 feet tall, built in 1886 to supply water for steam locomotives. It lies adjacent to the railroad track and while we were there two freight trains passed by demonstrating its high traffic flow even in today's day and age.

This time to take advantage of doing the “Four Corners” (hitting four states simultaneously: Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado) we had to knock out Wyoming early on the westward leg, which forced us to go southwest then travel through South Dakota again to start heading north toward North Dakota. We stopped at Hot Springs, South Dakota for a farm to table late lunch and early dinner, since it is our heavier meal we followed it with a brisk walk through town to keep my glucose in check.

We drove through the windy roads heading into North Dakota and stopped at the Frontier Travel Center where I did my last posting of the night at the adjacent gas station. When running late, you can always count on service plaza centers, welcome centers and of course, gas stations to get a receipts, witness signatures and a spray pasting, which I did by aesthetically positioning the “Reb-Rod-Mobile” just right in front of the station black plastic trash receptacle. Done. Now we will head to Miles, Montana, about 2-½ hours away to grab some shut eye.

VOLUME I: THE S3K PROJECT—Installment 9

What if the first step toward changing society is learning to see the whole system differently?

Installment 9 begins building the map for what comes next.

This installment dives into Ken Wilber’s AQAL model / Integral Operating System, organizing reality through the four dimensions of “I,” “It,” “We,” and “Its”—the inner and outer worlds of the individual and the collective. From medicine and therapy to ethics, business, culture, and social systems, the framework is presented as a way of seeing the whole instead of only the pieces.

From there, the focus widens to Cultural Creatives’ Convergence—the possibility of connecting movements, organizations, spiritual traditions, activists, artists, and social innovators around a shared purpose rather than leaving them fragmented.

Then “The Society of the Third Millennium” turns theory into vision, exploring what a reimagined future could look like and the transition from Cultural Creatives toward a new identity of Integral Neo-Transcendentalists.

Big sky Montana. Woke up in Miles City, Montana which was the previous site of a posting ten years ago on a huge hilltop water tank. This time it involved neither but instead a supersized mural of Batman, Spiderman and Wonder Woman. Downtown Miles City is full of art like murals, sculptures and galleries and as we were pulling out of the post office, I looked to my left and spotted an outdoor mural of my childhood superfriends. I quickly pulled into the small back alley and since I already had a receipt for a package I shipped out at the post office, I positioned the challenger in the foreground of the mural while Zoraya collected witness signatures from women taking a smoking break near the postering site. It served well as a good diversion to prep the poster to paste on the wooden telephone poll adjacent to the murals. As I was finishing up, a mini van pulled into the driveway and Zoraya and I quickly began to photograph and video the scene. I gestured to the female driver to hold up while we finished documenting the site. When I was done I ran over to her to offer the business card and told her that I was an artist putting posters in all 48 states. She lit up and said that she was coming to the site to do the very thing we were doing and photograph the murals. We both laughed about our coincidental meeting and then we left the scene.

The rest of the day we spent traversing across the western sky of the beautiful state of Montana. We took in the sites of plateau mountains and stone monuments, grazing steer, rolling hills and truncated valleys. We couldn't help but wonder what it was like for the pioneers and native americans to cross this land.

We made a quick stop at Bozemen and we drove down main street. We noticed the vibrant city life of all ages. At every signal light stop we could smell the tantalizing delights that tempted us to stop for dinner even though it was only 445 pm. We stopped at a Mexican restaurant called Jarochos and ate the best whole fried fish, Birria and Caldo de Camaron that we've had on this trip.

We left to drive to Missoula but we were surprised that all the hotel rooms were taken in both Butte and MIddoula. We later learned that it was due to homecoming so we went an hour past MIsouls to Superior for a room

21 STATES DOWN. 27 TO GO. The CLOCK IS TICKING- 9 DAYS TO MAKE HISTORY. (AGAIN)

Can a movement change the world if it refuses to change itself?

Installment 10 turns the spotlight on the movement itself.

Opening with “Where’s the Revolution?”, this installment examines what happens when activism becomes trapped in old habits, old labels, and old strategies. The Radical Reconfiguration challenges the progressive past and present, arguing that real transformation requires more than resistance—it requires self-examination, reinvention, and the willingness to abandon approaches that are no longer working.

From there, the installment moves into the post-2024 political reckoning presented in the text, exploring lost trust, generational change, populism, working-class disconnection, political messaging, and whether movements can genuinely listen to the people they hope to reach.

           Installment 10 enters that reckoning.

           3 States: 22) Idaho, 23) Washington, 24) Oregon

Left Montana around 11 am and crossed into Idaho’s version of a panhandle. We crossed it pretty fast because it was only about 80 miles across. The drive had lots of curves and beautiful scenery and I was excited when I serendipitously spotted the site that I posted 8 posters on the concrete divider facing out of the forested hills with the “Welcome to Idaho” sign beside it. This time around, the dividers were gone so I would not be able to duplicate the same shot from ten years ago. We made a stop in Cour d’Aline in search of Independence Point to make the first post and to gather signatures for the witness log. However, there was a Rosary Mass on the site so I settled for a shoreline scene along the lake. I positioned the Challenger in full view of the watery spectacle and spray pasted a trashcan by the waters edge.

Our next stop was in Washington state at a gas station and mini-mart. Zoraya went to get the signatures on the log and she came out with good news and bad news. She humorously recounted that the attendant at the counter was excited and supportive about the 48 state trip, so much so, she enthusiastically signed the witness log. Then she added, “But you’re in Washington. You just crossed the state line already.” So, we had to back track five miles to get two Idaho witness signatures for the log. With the posting and signatures done, we drove for roughly 30 miles through southern Washington and noticed that huge wind turbines seemed to line the horizon almost continuously until we approached the Oregon border. By dusk we stopped at a gas station and we were surprised that yet again we crossed the Washington/Oregon state line. I spray pasted another black pillar sign pole with a spectacular windmill backdrop and positioned the Challenger accordingly in the foreground. An advantage to getting the postings early is that we can get to the hotel sooner.

When I got to the Hotel in Bend, OR, I was hoping to get a workout to manage my glucose spikes but to no avail. Since being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in July, my wife quickly proceeded to order and read half a dozen books on the subject to educate herself in preparation to become my primary care giver because there was no way in hell that I was going to do everything she has done for me. She has educated herself and me by reading and researching extensively. She created a health protocol, which consists of a rigorous exercise regimen executed every day after each meal, a diet plan that included breaking down the macros to support my glucose levels: High fiber before every meal like chia, carrots and celery, High protein such as eggs, chicken and fish, high fat to satiate hunger like butter and avocado and healthy carbs like zucchini, bell peppers, asparagus. Plus the added challenge of creating a variety of meals so the meals aren't repetitively dull. Now imagine all that and more while on the road. It has become another part of the challenge: not only crossing the country in record time, but learning to manage my health while doing it.

What happens when a movement stops searching for an identity—and starts defining its mission?

Installment 11 is where identity becomes action.

It begins with the transition from the Cultural Creatives to the Integral Neo-Transcendentalists, framing them as a new cultural force emerging out of changing values, worldviews, and dissatisfaction with the old political divide.

Then the installment returns to the Monolithic Milestones guerrilla-art action at the Georgia Guidestones and the birth of Radical Integral Activism—where art, philosophy, protest, and strategy are fused into a public statement.

At the center is The Dynamic Decalogue: ten axioms designed to move from crisis and root causes, to a shared vision, a unified strategy, and finally mass mobilization.

           2 States: 25) California, 26) Nevada

We drove into California early in the afternoon and we stopped at the first gas station as soon as we crossed the California state line in Alturas. While I fueled up, Zoraya went to get the witness signatures in the mini-mart. She came back and retold the clerk's characterization of this location after she asked “what was the most interesting thing about this town.” She was surprised when he responded that there was a constant police presence with 35 cars patrolling regularly because this was the drug corridor from Oregon.

We didn't actually see 35 patrol cars but there were definitely quite a few stops just while we were pumping gas. Driving through town we noticed there were a lot of abandoned buildings, boarded up store fronts and empty streets as if the entire town had been evacuated due to a crisis or emergency. There was one building in particular that captured my attention. It was a mural of a red truck and the contrasting black cat that was positioned on top of the truck bed's edge. I thought the red of the truck would highlight the black and red of the insignia of the poster. Zoraya felt uneasy and we left in haste.

As we were exiting the edge of town, I spotted the black antique Southern Pacific Steam locomotive under the wooden pavilion. It actually worked the route from Alturas to Reno. It was retired in 1956 and now remains on display outdoors under the pavilion. It felt fitting to stop beside a piece of the same transportation history we were now following across the West.

We continued driving south and entered the northern part of the state in Reno Nevada. Along our travels, one my personal quest has been to locate the perfect bean and cheese burrito because I perceive it as an accurate gauge of authentic Mexican fast food. The bean and cheese burrito showcases the tacos shop's foundational use of two main ingredients, refried beans and cheddar cheese. If something so simple goes awry then the more complicated dishes will too. If this simple sample of food meets my personal expectations then it is probably because of the lard in the means and the quality of the cheddar cheese which makes all the difference for this dish and the attention to for the rest of the meals. Roberto's in both Los Angeles and San Diego, falls into this category so I was excited to discover a Roberto's in Reno, Nevada. To my wonderful surprise, it lived up to its name.

As we usually do, while we waited for our food order, I took a stroll around the perimeter of the property to both get exercise and to survey potential posting sites. I posted at a busy street corner which had what looked like a freshly painted wide and white electrical box with the bright lights of Circus Circus Casino rising in the background that conjured up childhood memories of our family visit to this site.

Driving out of Reno, Nevada was a series of winding roads. We drove on Route 50 that is nicknamed, “The Loneliest Road in America.” The name came from Life magazine in 1986 and Nevada later embraced it as part of their state's identity. As daylight faded and the road stretched farther into the desert, we finally stopped to sleep in the sparsely populated mining town of Eureka, Nevada.

VOLUME I: THE S3K PROJECT—Installment 12

If movements keep repeating the same cycles, what would it take to finally break the loop—and turn change into transformation?

Installment 12 is where the theory of change gets its engine.

At the center is Pillar VI: Integral Theory & Strategy for Change and the Grand Unified Theory & Strategy (GUTS)—an attempt to answer a deceptively simple question: if change is everywhere, why does so much of it leave the deeper system untouched?

The installment argues that fragmented movements often fail because they do not share the same language, definitions, goals, or measures of success. Through the Genesis for Coalescing Progressives and the Decalogue Dialogues, it works through conflicts over reform versus revolution, gradual versus rapid change, violence versus nonviolence, and what “success” or “transformation” actually means.

Then GUTS takes shape as a broader model: Cultural Evolution, Structural Revolution, and Global Transformation, supported by ten theoretical tenets designed to move movements beyond what the text calls “change within changelessness.”

Today was difficult and the strain and rigor of 12 hour driving days is taking a toll on both the Challenger and our bodies. The pace of the trip has started to catch up with us. My wife reached a breaking point of exhaustion after days of long drives, meals on the road and monitoring and caring for my health. At the same time, my glucose shot beyond the 400 danger zone that could incur coma inducing consequences and adding another layer of stress to an already difficult day. For the first time, it felt like all three of us- The Challenger, my wife and I, were being pushed to our limits.

We had no choice but to slow down, regroup and deal with one problem at a time. For a moment, the miles stopped mattering. We needed to take care of each other before we could keep moving. Because of this recent development, Zoraya had to administer the first fast acting emergency insulin shot of the trip. This was a major setback considering we had managed to keep my blood sugar levels below 300 for the past month through diet, exercise and heat therapy without the insulin shots. In addition my A1C has started to climb back up. Normal is 6 and although I started at 13 over the past 3 months we got it down to 7.9 and is now back to 9.5 I am also beginning to re-experience tingling and pain in my extremities of toes, feet and calves, a sign of neuropathy beginning which worst case scenario can lead to amputation. If anyone was under the false impression that this was going to be a leisurely vacation to 48 states, they would be grossly mistaken. It is in fact a long arduous, grueling undertaking and it comes to no surprise that no one else has attempted it before or since 2016.

It took four hours to cut through Nevada with the Ruby Mountains Range, nicknamed the “Swiss Alps of Nevada” running parallel on my left. We reached the border of Nevada and Utah, the “Crossroads of the West” to make a posting and it was not a moment too soon. The Challenger had taken some damage and began to show the wear and tear of the many miles we put on this trip. The critical tipping point was when I pushed the Challenger to at least 155 miles per hour (without the nitrous) on a long desolate stretch of road and making sure there were no vehicles, intersections or structures anywhere along the parallel path. It was only after easing off the accelerator that we both heard rattling on the drivers side front end of the vehicle. I inspected the damage when we pulled over to the Utah welcome site for photographs. Then I noticed the driver side front end spoiler dragging on the ground. The 155 velocity wind resistance had done its damage. It took an hour to tape all the pieces together with the magical miracle duct tape.

As dusk began to settle on the horizon, Zoraya's anxiety rose. This was due to her prior nightmare experience ten years on our first transcontinental 48 state trip. Apparently, on a stormy night, she took over driving duties due to my exhaustion and she experienced a dramatic near miss collision with “multiple mooses”. (Yes,i know its meese) It was so traumatizing that to this day ten years later, whenever the sun goes down and wildlife warning and danger signs start blinking, it creates a triggering emotional effect on her. So whenever we pass by a deer, moose or cattle sign, they serve more as trigger warning, and not in a good way. However, with a massive blunt hit to the front driver's side, I was proven wrong. Before the violent impact I pumped the brakes hard to avoid hitting two deer on each side of the lane. I was driving and and for a split second they seemed to be running in the opposite direction and I was about to experience a near miss right through the middle. Unfortunately, as it often happens, at the last second, the deer switched directions and I clipped it in the head and it recoiled back to the front fender leaving five point antler dents on the driver's side and increasing the damage to the already broken spoiler and headlight frame. It bent the front fender so much so, when I open the driver's side door, it still makes a clicking sound of its now deformed opening. A few miles down the road we pulled into a gas station to inspect the damage and luckily there were no remnants of the deer other than a few hairs. Who knows, maybe it survived the ordeal as we did.
VOLUME I: THE S3K PROJECT—Installment 13

If another world is possible, what happens when you stop imagining it in fragments—and start building the whole vision?

Installment 13 stops asking what’s wrong with the present—and starts asking what the future should actually look like.

At the center is Pillar VIII: Integral Envisioning a New Ecological Society, where S3K is presented not just as a critique of the old order, but as a stratified vision of Earth Community built around ecological sustainability, social justice, local resilience, and a more integrated way of organizing society.

The installment looks back at past attempts to build a shared vision—from grassroots globalization and the Earth Charter to Occupy Wall Street—and argues that movements repeatedly struggled because their ideas remained fragmented, disconnected, or without a common strategy.

Then comes the larger blueprint: S3K in Three Transformative Thresholds—a 30-year master plan moving through S3K 1.0: community resilience and post-carbon relocalization, S3K 2.0: a post-carbon Third Industrial Revolution, and S3K 3.0: a Resource-Based Economy.

VOLUME I: THE S3K PROJECT—Installment 14

What if America’s deepest political divide cannot be solved by defeating the other side—but only by evolving beyond the divide itself?

Installment 14 takes the fight into politics—not by picking a side, but by asking why the sides can no longer understand each other.

At the center is Pillar IX: Integral Politics, Proclamations, Policies & Plans, which frames America’s democratic crisis as something deeper than ordinary partisan disagreement: a collision of competing values, identities, and worldviews.

The installment develops the idea of Developmental Politics, presenting hyperpolarization as primarily a cultural problem requiring a cultural solution. It maps three major worldviews—Traditionalism, Modernism, and Postmodernism—and argues that political conflict cannot be understood simply as red versus blue.

From there, it traces how those worldviews emerged, collided, and borrowed from one another, while asking whether a new political philosophy can preserve the strengths of each without remaining trapped in their conflicts.

We left the hotel and finished packing the Challenger by 10:30 am before driving off to the first post. Zoraya administered the second insulin shot for the second day in a row since my sugar again exceeded the 400 mark. (Normal is 90-180, 181-250 is high, 251-399 is extremely high and 400 and above is dangerous and life threatening. )

After departing the hotel parking lot, we drove around the immediate areas to locate the first posting site since Page is virtually the last city before entering the next state. After circling different parking lots ,stores and eateries, I found a spot that featured the Arizona red rocks canyon backdrop that I was looking for. Oddly enough, in a shopping center next to a Burger King. I positioned the Challenger next to an orange concrete base light pillar painted orange that seemed to compliment the mall sign and BK logo color along with orange copper colors for the background landscape. There were a few customers sitting at the outdoor benches watching as I cleaned the surface of the orange concrete base and proceeded to post the first poster of the day.

Getting the other western states at the four corners. (New Mexico and Colorado) This proved an easier task than usual considering there is a national monument called the four corners that straddles these four states.

Ten years ago.this spot was barely a tourist attraction let alone a monument and was free and now it's ten dollars per person. And it actually closes at 5 pm with locked gates. Tourists that arrive later are shit out of luck, (disgruntled tourists in the recent past.) There are six flags around it for the four states and two nations.

There are six flags around it for the four states and two native american nations enclosed by a four sided market area where vendors sell arts and crafts. There was a tourist lime that formed to get to the center of the monument where they took pictures in various poses. While Zoraya gathered witness signatures from the vendors, I stood in line and started prepping the insignia posters but this time not with spray adhesive, but instead with removable blue painters tape in order to keep the posters from flying away as we took video and pictures from all four sides.

If transformation requires new systems, does it also require a new kind of leader—and a new way of organizing together?

Installment 15 asks a different question: What kind of people—and what kind of organizations—are actually capable of carrying a new vision forward?

At the center is Pillar X: Integral Leadership, Organization & Movements, beginning with the idea that leadership starts with personal development. The installment introduces Integral Life Practice (ILP) through the core areas of body, mind, spirit, and shadow, along with ethics, work, relationships, creativity, emotion, and purpose.

, it explores a new model of leadership that looks beyond command-and-control structures toward broader perspective-taking, adaptability, and what the text calls Teal organizations—built around self-management, wholeness, and evolutionary purpose.

DAY FIFTEEN: Wednesday, October 7, 2026

           3 States: 31) Texas, 32) Oklahoma, 33) Kansas

Upon arriving at the Texas state border I experienced a moment of deja vu because there was the same welcome sign that I photographed the challenger ten years ago. (see the Rebel Rodder book)

Only this time I spray pasted two posters on the sign metal stands along with the other small stickers decorating the surrounding area. Instead of theChallenger in the foreground, this time I positioned it in the background. Next, Boise Oklahoma.

Upon arriving at Boise, Oklahoma, and going around the city center through a traffic circle I discovered the next high risk posting site. It stood literally across the street from the county courthouse This unnerved Zoraya to such a point that she expressed reluctance in posting in such blatantly exposed and public sites. Nevertheless, I proceeded because the riskier, the more thrilling and the higher the personal reward.

We left Oklahoma and entered Liberal, Kansas. We stopped to eat at a Mexican Seafood Restaurant called “Mariscos Sinaloa.” We ordered aguachile verde which is shrimp marinated in lemon, cucumbers and red onions. We also ordered a whole fried fish, Mojarra Frita and a fish ceviche. (Tilapia marinated in lemon with tomatoes, cilantro and onion on top of a tostada.) The food was delicious and it was so authentic it tasted like the ocean, in a good way. It seemed like we were eating on the shores of Mazatlan. The restaurant staff was very friendly and accommodating. As we left, I realized that we should take advantage of having receipts and witness signatures by spray pasting an insignia poster on their back door where the challenger was parked. Even though we had another site in mind I always take advantage of an opportunity because you never know what might cross your path to thwart your intentions. As it happened, we were rerouted towards Missouri through Oklahoma for a faster route and we would have missed posting in Kansas.

DAY SIXTEEN: Thursday, October 8, 2026

Woke up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and lo and behold, there was no sign of Sylvester Stallone and his Tulsa King crew anywhere. (LOL.) But all kidding aside, we arrived at the first posting site which was a huge outdoor mural commemorating the historic Route 66 highway in downtown Joplin, Missouri. As usual, I spraypasted the poster on an adjacent wall that served as the foreground along with the Challenger parked nearby. I took both video and photographs from different vantage points.

Before departing we had to reevaluate our route again due to new updates about the impending Hurricane Isaiah. We learned that the brunt of the storm is going to hit Florida, Louisiana and Alabama by 7 pm, Friday Oct 9. So the debate ensued whether we should go to Kentucky and Tennessee before heading south or wait to catch those states until the end to try to outrun the monster Hurricane Isaiah

Since we are aiming for the final destination to be Washington DC and the last state to be Maryland, we decided to reverse engineer the route from that endpoint. We will drive through Arkansas to Tennessee then Batesville, Mississippi by tonight.

Here is our new storm itinerary to get to the remaining 13 states in less than 4 days to beat our own record

that we "unofficially" set in 2016:

            35) Arkansas, 36) Tennessee, 37) Mississippi, 38) Louisiana, 39) Alabama, 40) Florida,

           41) Georgia,42) South Carolina, 43) North Carolina, 44) Kentucky, 45) Virginia, 46) West Virginia, 47) Delaware, 48) Maryland, Washington, D.C. — finish

Coincidentally, we will stop at Batesville, Mississippi, the same location we posted at ten years ago during our first cross continental trip where the attendant at the hotel warned us to stay out of the south because of a fast approaching hurricane. The plan is to swing through the south to try to get ahead of the ferocious storm called Hurricane Isaiah. It is predicted to be a category 2, with 100 miles plus an hour winds and 15 inches of rain. It is the first hurricane to hit the US in 2 years so there are mandatory evacuation in the Gulf states and it is expected to hit landfall in Pensacola, Florida tomorrow around 7 pm to midnight

According to our usual routine of departing around 10:30 am and finishing our first post by 11am, we would be reaching Pensacola, Florida at 7 pm right when the hurricane is supposed to hit. (To quote the fictional Floridian, Detective Debra Morgan from the Showtimes Series Dexter, “Jesus H. Christ on a raft!!!”)

But for now, we drove four hours across Arkansas and it was time to eat so we searched for authentic Mexican food and fortunately we have been very lucky with the restaurants we've chosen. Every meal has been both delicious and authentic which is rare because ten years ago it was hit or miss (mostly misses). This time around, we went to El Rinconcito (The Little Corner) and we ordered a Caldo de Res and a Caldo de Pozole which is a spicy pork stew with hominy accompanied with cabbage, cilantro, onions and lime. While we waited for the order to arrive Zoraya went through the highways on the map book and I surveyed the area for any potential sites to post. When I came back in I shared that I had the perfect location and it was a site I had never done before. After we ate, we headed to a multi store double sided display marquee where I noticed that the last bottom right hand boxes were empty while the others were operating business in the plaza. It was so spacious that it required 3 posters on each side. (Breaking my record of multiple posters on one site of this trip which I hadn't thought of doing because we only had 92 remaining posters and I had already done multiples in previous locations.) It was a good idea to number the posters and know how many exactly I had left as the supply dwindled. That's how I knew I could spare five extra ones at this site for a total of six at this spot.

Almost five hours later we crossed over the Mississippi River on the most brightly lit up bridge. We headed to the welcome center but both the parking and the building were closed. We parked outside of its perimeter and walked in through the fenced entrance. We strolled the perimeter and after a few minutes Zoraya spotted the perfect spot with the beautiful multi-colored lights decorating the bride in the background. Now on to Mississippi where we retired for the night in the hotel.

VOLUME I: THE S3K PROJECT—Installment 16

When people lose faith in the system, does the answer lie in choosing new leaders—or inventing a new way to govern altogether?

Installment 16 is where the rebellion reaches its crescendo.

Opening with “Common Sense III: The Rebels Are on the Rise and the Establishment Is on the Ropes,” the installment frames the moment as one of mounting anti-establishment anger, political exhaustion, and repeated populist uprisings from both the Left and the Right. The central question is no longer whether people are dissatisfied—but whether that dissatisfaction can break what the text calls the status quo’s self-reinforcing loop.

From there, it moves into Integral Governing Dynamics (IGD)—a proposed synthesis of Spiral Dynamics, Integral Politics, resilience, wicked-problem analysis, Crowdocracy, Community Rights, cyber-governance, and other models intended to rethink how people govern themselves.

The installment then pushes beyond representative politics toward Crowdocracy and Cyber-Governance, exploring how broader participation, collective intelligence, technology, and structured decision-making might form what the text presents as the next evolutionary stage of governance.

VOLUME I: THE S3K PROJECT—Installment 17

If the system will not transform itself, are we willing to become the people who transform it?

Installment 17 brings Volume II to its final confrontation: What does it mean to stop waiting for change—and personally commit to creating it?

The Afterword turns the theory into a personal political declaration. Through the 2018 Personal Declaration of Independence, the installment presents a pledge built around Community Rights, Crowdocracy, citizen accountability, and the idea that ordinary people should take a more direct role in governing their communities.

It then revisits the history of Lead…or Leave, generational activism, and the recurring demand for political accountability, before returning to the book’s larger argument that representative democracy must evolve toward wider participation and what the text calls Crowdocracy.

The closing material gathers the larger S3K architecture together—from the Dynamic Decalogue and its Ten Philosophical Pillars to the three phases of Cultural Evolution, Structural Revolution, and Global Transformation—showing how the separate ideas developed throughout Volume II are intended to fit into one larger strategy.

           4 States: 37) Mississippi 38)Louisiana, 49) Alabama, 40) Georgia

Woke up an hour earlier than usual and left the hotel by 9:01. Since there was no breakfast, we ran to get something to eat and on route we spotted a “Dodges” drive thru mini mart gas station and decided to make that the first posting site. While Zoraya got the witness signatures, I began to clean the windshield while fueling up the Challenger. Then I proceeded to prep the target site by cleaning the surface and then spray-pasted the poster and placed it in between two Dodges signs, a big one and a little one, while the car was positioned in between both. Then we proceeded to get breakfast while we re-routed our itinerary once again due to hurricane Isaiah path and its updated category 3 status. However , we had no choice but to continue south into the mouth of the monster and the belly of the beast in order to post in Alabama and Florida.

A couple of hours later, we reached the Louisiana state line and immediately pulled off on the first exit in search of a welcome center but as it sometimes happens, we accidentally discovered a historic site. We found a gravel path towards Grants Canal, a failed Civil War engineering project from 1862 and 1863 where Union forces tried to dig a channel across De Soto Point (or De Soto Peninsula) in Louisiana, directly across the Mississippi River from Vicksburg, Mississippi. However before even reaching the site, we found an interesting visual spot underneath the highway bridge on its concrete circular pillars and the welcome to Louisiana sign all in one frame.

As soon as we entered the state of Alabama we stopped at the Welcome Center to once again reevaluate our itinerary because the margin of error was so small we could not afford to make a routing mistake if we wanted to break our own record. We made a decision and instead of going south, we decided to go straight east through Alabama to reach Columbus, Georgia in order to avoid Mobile and the panhandle to avoid where the hurricane is to hit at 8 pm. We were concerned that some highways and bridges were already closing with rerouting and there were mandatory evacuations ordered by authorities.

Just before Montgomery we stop at a Raceway gas station and minimart for our third and last posting of the day. Now it would just be pure driving through stormy weather even before Hurricane Isaiah makes landfall. Our goal is to reach Albany, Georgia by midnight and position ourselves to dip into Florida tomorrow morning before making our final ascent north towards home.

The penultimate day. We have 8 states to go and 2 days remaining to beat our own world record. We started our day at the Waffle House in Georgia which was our first time ever eating there and it was a pleasant experience because the food was better than expected. While we were finishing eating, I noticed a potential posting site inside the diner especially because it had been raining since Hurricane Isaias. Since we had not posted in Georgia, but we were expecting to do so in Elberton at the Georgia Guidestones once we were heading North from Florida, I have learned from these travels that it is always smart to take advantage of posting when the opportunity arises despite future plans. It is one of the rules I have established this time because you never know what lies ahead. (Which later on turned out to be a smart thing to do.)

I proceeded to get my first book of the Rebel Rodder and showed our waitress the posting I had done at a Denny's and asked if I could do one inside the Waffle House. She looked at the picture, looked at me then looked at the picture again and said, “OK.” So I proceeded to do my usual prep and spraypasted on the poster and applied it to a black plastic “A board” and moved the two rows of cones on either side to balance the composition. Framed just right I proceeded to video and photograph it while customers looked on wondering what the hell I was doing.

Shortly thereafter we departed and headed south to Florida. In order to avoid the panhandle yesterday, we went east to avoid the storm and landed at a visitors center in Jennings Florida. Upon arriving at the parking lot area. I spotted a familiar outdoor welcome to Florida arch where tourists stood in line to take their photograph. It was the same type of structure from ten years ago but at a different visiting center. I made sure to park on the other parking lot row in order to have privacy to prep the poster using the trunk lid as a shelter from the rain.

We went to the bathroom first before entering the visitors center. It was there inside that Zoraya pointed out our next photo and video opportunity of placing one poster underneath the “you are here” floor map that outlined the state of Florida and its different tourist destinations. However, I wanted to leave a poster or two behind and not just temporarily place one for photographic use. So, I went back to the car and waited what seemed like an hour for the rain to pause or stop in order to proceed and pin on 2 palm trees instead of the two concrete pillars of the “Welcome to Florida” arch. I thought it would make an appropriate follow up picture from ten years ago with the car and palm trees in the foreground. After a long arduous delay we finally headed out of Florida and back to Georgia again en route to what was America's Stonehedge.

During the six hour return trip back we decided to research the Georgia Guidestones in preparation of what to expect at the site. Probably something we should have done earlier because we learned that there was to be no sign of it anywhere. Not the information pedestal, not the concrete groundstone nor any kind of remnants of the granite pillars. In fact, according to the pictures we found online, we would only find an overgrown field which indicated a return to the natural state for cows pastures. We went ahead anyways to see for ourselves and confirm the online information. We listened to the podcast called, "Who blew up the Georgia Guidestones?” in route to what was the site of that granite monument. However our GPS warned us it would be dark, rainy and arrive by nightfall. Five hours later, we arrived, pitch dark and rainy. Zoraya and I investigated the ground with our mini flashlights and umbrella and we were able to verify the information on the internet. There was nothing. There was no evidence of it ever existing. Only the chain link fence to remind us where the dirt-gravel parking lot was. THe night was gloomy, spooky and downright weird as we heard a slowly approaching sedan blazing Spanish banda music passing by us in rural north eastern Georgia. We also realized there was nowhere to spray paste posters making the waffle house postering in hindsight seem like a “genius move.”

But what was truly genius was the anonymity and secret origins of the Georgia Guidestones monuments since it lends itself to such mythological and conspiratorial legends. We learned a lot through the podcast which told the story through the eyes of a Georgia native who always wanted to see the monument but regretted never seeing it and with the help and collaboration between The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) and Goat Rodeo told the origin story and the mystery behind the man who manifested a monument to a philosophy. However in their investigation told in the podcast, we learned of its possible sinister motives. It's a shame because we had such positive feelings, experiences and memories at the site over the years. For me, it began in 2008 when I first learned of it through the now defunct Alex Jones infowars video, Endgame. A year later I did my first guerilla art reconnaissance of the site with Zoraya's aunt and cousins where we explored the eccentricities of the landmark and even posed for pictures and video in the V for Vendetta Guy Fox costumes. During 2010-2011, I would begin creating the artistic concept for my next outdoor public site specific art installation in ten years, since the strawman project. The granite monument would eventually become the physical scaffold to my integral philosophy of artivism called the dynamic decalogue: the ten foundational pillars of integral neo-transcendentalism for radical evolutionary transformation. (Which you can find in the SUM, SUM II and the Dynamic Decalogue all in Volume II of the S3K Septet Synthology.) It was on May 8, 2011 that I executed the project with some members of my old guerilla art crew from San Diego, Ca so it served as a festive reunion of members of S3K. The art project was even featured in the Elberton Newspaper and editorialized in a positive way by the publisher. Lastly, Zoraya and I viewed the 2017 solar eclipse at eh Georgia Guidestones along with other fellow eclipse chasers to bear witness of a celestial event. That literally brought tears to our eyes and dancing to our feet. So you can see why we felt a certain sense of sorrow and disappointment with such a controversial site that brought such joy to us despite what its sinister motivations might have been that we later learned in the podcast.

However, the real horror began later that night. We were still experiencing the tail end of the monstrous Hurricane Isaias which created low visibility, high winds, flash flood warning, harsh rains and gloomy skies. As a defensive driving tactic I would draft behind a lead car in front of me to use their taillights as visual guidance to the path ahead of me.

           6 States: 43) North Carolina, 44) Kentucky, 45) Virginia, 46) West Virginia, 47) Maryland, 48) Delaware

We woke up in South Carolina and headed towards North Carolina. Once we crossed the state line we stopped at a gas station via the usual routine of getting receipts by refuelling, acquiring witness log signatures and spray pasting. Only this time I broke this trip's record of 6 posters to 8 in one site at the gas station marquee sign. We left to drive through Tennessee to get to Kentucky which took five hours. We drove through the Cumberland Gap Tunnel that leads to the Cumberland Gap Historical Visitors Center featuring historic exhibits about frontiersmen and Native Americans. I decided to continue the trash motif by spray pasting a back leaning trash can near the entrance using it as a foreground to the welcome center's sign. When I finished and began to document the site, an elderly man approached the poster to read and make sense of what he was seeing. I then interjected that he was in my photographic and video view and he backed away and asked what this was about. I proceeded to tell him about the 48 state trek, the book and the record and he became at ease. After a few words he left the scene satisfied that no permanent defamation of a site was occurring.

We left to head north and drove and it took 5 fours of driving through Virginia to get West Virginia. Towards the end of Virginia we were running dangerously low on fuel but luckily we made it to a Sheetz gas station where I got a refuel receipt, witness signatures and posting at one of the gas pumps. At this point, so late in the day our best bets were welcome centers and gas stations with minimarts. We arrived at a Wawa at midnight and we got another gas station trash can, receipt and signatures. By 12:45 we arrived in the downtown civic center of Maryland where I spotted an interesting building with a spray painted X on the door which seemed to suggest that this was the spot for my next posting. There was a mural on both the left and right side with the words “inspire and explore” with a colorful background. I proceeded to spray the poster on the glass surface just below where X marked the spot. After acquiring a gas station receipt and witness signatures we proceed, ironically, to the “The last state" in our titanic trip: Delaware “The first state”

But before that final threshold I had to take a break at a service plaza center due to extreme exhaustion. Zoraya administered my 7th straight day shot of insulin which I never have had to do before. The trip was getting to be very taxing on my health. Luckily she was by my side as my primary caregiver and moral support to get me through it. However, even the insulin that was proving to be ineffective to bring down my blood sugar form 400, the danger zone. Either because of its reduced effectiveness over the past weeks or loss of potency despite being refrigerated in a traveling cooler.

I tried to nap but I woke up within thirty minutes due to anger that I felt that I was falling short and quitting prematurely. I thought to myself, what if the estimation is wrong? What if we are off by twelve hours? What if the deadline is 4:30 am, not 4:30pm? It is 3:30 am so how could I possibly sleep through the time of expiration? These possibilities nagged me and irritated me to the extent that it alerted me to wakefulness So I told Zoraya, “Lets go. It's time to finish this. I can't fail this close to finishing.” We pushed ahead at 3:30 am with about 30 plus minutes to reach Delaware. When we finally crossed the Delaware state border which became our finish line, we quickly looked for a gas station to do the final posting, get a receipt for fuel and witness signatures at a gas station located on Harmony Road which was what I was finally feeling within myself now completing his tumultuous task. And so the final posting occurred at 4:29 am. If we were off by twelve hours that would mean that instead of the deadline being at 4:30 this afternoon it would be 4:30 this morning, so worse case scenario, breaking my old record by solely one minute. (Talk about gone in sixty seconds in my case “gone BY sixty seconds.”)
