REBEL RODDER (RR) ROAD DISPATCH #10:

“Big Skies, Super Heroes and Serendipity”

DAY TEN: Friday, October 2, 2026

1 State: 21) Montana

Big sky Montana. Woke up in Miles City, Montana which was the previous site of a posting ten years ago on a huge hilltop water tank. This time it involved neither but instead a supersized mural of Batman, Spiderman and Wonder Woman. Downtown Miles City is full of art like murals, sculptures and galleries and as we were pulling out of the post office, I looked to my left and spotted an outdoor mural of my childhood superfriends. I quickly pulled into the small back alley and since I already had a receipt for a package I shipped out at the post office, I positioned the challenger in the foreground of the mural while Zoraya  collected witness signatures from  women taking a smoking break near the postering site. It served well as a good diversion to prep the poster to paste on the wooden telephone poll adjacent to the murals. As I was finishing up, a mini van pulled into the driveway and Zoraya and I quickly began to photograph and video the scene. I gestured to the female driver to hold up while we finished documenting the site. When I was done I ran over to her to offer the business card and told her that I was an artist putting posters in all 48 states. She lit up and said that she was coming to the site to do the very thing we were doing and photograph the murals. We both laughed about our coincidental meeting and then we left the scene.

The rest of the day we spent traversing across the western sky of the beautiful state of Montana.  We took in the sites of plateau mountains and stone monuments, grazing steer, rolling hills and truncated valleys.  We couldn't help but wonder what it was like for the pioneers and native americans to cross this land.

We made a quick stop at Bozemen and we drove down main street. We noticed the vibrant city life of all ages. At every signal light stop we could smell the tantalizing delights that tempted us to stop for dinner even though it was only 445 pm. We stopped at a Mexican restaurant  called Jarochos and ate the best whole fried fish, Birria and Caldo de Camaron that we've had on this trip.

We left to drive to Missoula but  we were surprised that all the hotel rooms were taken  in both Butte and MIddoula. We later learned that it was due to homecoming so we went an hour past MIsouls to Superior  for a room

21 STATES DOWN. 27 TO GO. The CLOCK IS TICKING- 9 DAYS TO MAKE HISTORY. (AGAIN)
